In the next two months, the tourism department is expecting more tourists, as temperatures will rise throughout India. In addition, the annual Amarnath Yatra, which was suspended for two years due to the Covid-19 epidemic, will also start on June 30 and will run for 43 days. Director of Tourism GN Itoo said that in March 2022, there were 1,79,970 tourists visiting Kashmir, a record for the past 10 years. “This is a record number and we expect it to rise again. Fame for the record number of new arrivals goes to the efforts of all stakeholders, ”he said.

Tourism Secretary Sarmad Hafeez said a series of road shows were held in Bhubaneswar, Bengaluru, Kolkata, and other places to attract tourists to Kashmir. “This year, all the hotels and canoes have been booked for major tourist destinations in Kashmir.”
He added, “We expect further increase in the number of tourists in Kashmir in the coming months.” Our aim was to provide unique information to visitors to Kashmir. This year, while guests were visiting the Tulip Garden, we had an exhibition of traditional Kashmiri food, featuring wazwan and many varieties of Kashmiri bread. This was an additional feature of the garden, ”he said.
According to officials, it was the first time since the Covid epidemic that a large number of tourists headed to Kashmir.
