Islamabad:Former Prime Minister Imran Khan has decided to resign as a member of the National Assembly ahead of the election of Pakistan’s new prime minister. This came after Imran Khan said he would not sit with criminals in meetings.
“A person who is guilty of one R16 billion corruption and another R8 billion corruption case. they are resigning from the National Assembly, “Imran Khan was quoted as saying in an official PTI Twitter account.
Confirming the decision, former Pakistani Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed said sitting in a meeting would strengthen Opposition Leader Shehbaz Sharif and it was decided that they would submit their resignation to the National Assembly.
Imran Khan backed my proposal during the party’s parliamentary session, ”he said, adding that Khan would visit Peshawar on Wednesday.

“Imran Khan will call on the people every Sunday to come out and fight this foreign conspiracy,” Rasheed said.
PTI Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Murad Saeed was the first member of the party to submit his resignation to the Speaker of the National Assembly, according to ARY News.
Earlier in the day, PTI held a party meeting in Parliament at the Islamabad House of Assembly, Radio Pakistan reported. The meeting was presided over by Imran Khan.
Pakistan’s parliament will elect a new prime minister today after Khan was ousted from office following a no-confidence vote in the National Assembly.
A vote of no confidence in the Imran Khan-led government, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was held in the National Assembly on Saturday night, when 174 members voted in favor of the Imran Khan Government’s proposal.
